When to Book Your Newborn Session
The best time to schedule a newborn session is during your second trimester, before things get hectic. Booking early secures a window in your due-date range.
The actual session happens within the first five to fourteen days after your baby is born — when newborns still curl easily and sleep deeply.
Many Guilford families deliver at Johns Hopkins Hospital — about ten minutes south of Guilford in East Baltimore. Some families also choose GBMC (Greater Baltimore Medical Center) in Towson or Mercy Medical Center in downtown. Wherever you deliver, once you’re settled at home, call or message me and we schedule the session for whatever day works best in that first two-week window.

Guilford in Baltimore is a historic planned community developed by the Roland Park Company in 1913 — the same developers who designed Roland Park and Homeland just to the north. Signature tree-lined boulevards, historic homes, and the famous Sherwood Gardens (a 5.5-acre tulip garden that draws visitors from across the region each spring) anchor the neighborhood. Guilford sits next to the Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus.

If you deliver at GBMC in Towson or Mercy Medical Center downtown, the timing is the same — the actual session happens within the first five to fourteen days after your baby is born.
Can siblings and family be in the session?
Yes. Sibling and parent portraits are part of the session. We typically do those first while everyone is fresh, then move to baby-only setups. Many Guilford families bring older siblings — the studio is calm and child-friendly.
