From the Locust Point peninsula, my Timonium studio takes about twenty minutes north — Light Street north to I-83, then straight up to the Timonium exit. It’s a bit longer than the drive from some northern neighborhoods, but Locust Point families consistently tell me it’s worth the trip. The studio is fully equipped and ready when you arrive — you bring nothing but the baby.

Newborn sessions at my studio are posed sessions — what some families call classic newborn photography. The studio is set up specifically for newborn safety and quality: warm controlled temperature, professional lighting, soundproofed rooms, and an extensive collection of wraps, props, and baskets — a fully-equipped environment that consistently produces gallery-grade results.

Sessions last two to three hours. That sounds long, but it moves easily because we work around feeds, naps, and any pauses your baby needs.

When to Book Your Newborn Session
The best time to schedule a newborn session is during your second trimester, before things get hectic. Booking early secures a window in your due-date range.
The actual session happens within the first five to fourteen days after your baby is born — when newborns still curl easily and sleep deeply.
Many Locust Point families deliver at MedStar Harbor Hospital — about ten minutes from the peninsula, near the Inner Harbor. Some families also choose Johns Hopkins Hospital in East Baltimore or MedStar Union Memorial further north. Wherever you deliver, once you’re settled at home, call or message me and we schedule the session for whatever day works best in that first two-week window.

Locust Point sits on Baltimore’s south peninsula — bordered on three sides by water, home to Fort McHenry National Monument (where Francis Scott Key watched the bombardment that inspired The Star-Spangled Banner in 1814), and known for its tight-knit community feel. The peninsula has changed a lot in the last twenty years — Under Armour headquarters at Tide Point, McHenry Row shopping center, new residential development — but it still has that small-town-within-the-city character that makes it distinctive.

When should we book if delivering at MedStar Harbor Hospital?

MedStar Harbor Hospital near the Inner Harbor is the most popular delivery choice for Locust Point families — about ten minutes from the peninsula. If you deliver at Johns Hopkins Hospital in East Baltimore or MedStar Union Memorial further north, the timing is the same — the actual session happens within the first five to fourteen days after your baby is born.
Can siblings and family be in the session?
Yes. Sibling and parent portraits are part of the session. We typically do those first while everyone is fresh, then move to baby-only setups. Many Locust Point families bring older siblings — the studio is calm and child-friendly.
