A 14-Minute Drive from Mount Washington to a Calm, Light-Filled Studio

Newborn baby with older sibling, Mount Washington family session
From Mount Washington, my Timonium studio takes about fourteen minutes north — Mount Washington Road north to Falls Road, then I-83 to the Timonium exit. The studio is fully equipped and ready when you arrive — you bring nothing but the baby.
The studio is set up so you don’t need to think about anything once you arrive:
  • Reserved parking right at the door
  • Warm, controlled temperature for baby
  • A quiet, private room for nursing or settling in
  • Wraps, swaddles, headbands, bonnets, and baskets ready
  • A wardrobe closet for parents and siblings if you’d like to use it
  • You bring the baby. I handle the rest.

What Mount Washington Families Get with Their Newborn Session

Newborn sessions at my studio are posed sessions — what some families call classic newborn photography.
The studio is set up specifically for newborn safety and quality: warm controlled temperature, professional lighting, soundproofed rooms, and an extensive collection of wraps, props, and baskets — a fully-equipped environment that consistently produces gallery-grade results.
    Your baby will be photographed:
  • Sleeping in soft wraps and bare-skin curls
  • In parent arms and against parent skin
  • With siblings included (if you’d like)
  • In careful basket and bowl setups
  • Sessions last two to three hours. That sounds long, but it moves easily because we work around feeds, naps, and any pauses your baby needs.

Why Mount Washington Families Choose Ana Koska Photography

Newborn baby with older sibling, Mount Washington family session
I’ve been photographing newborns for over fifteen years — full-time newborn specialization. Newborns require careful posing, specialized lighting setup, and someone who’s seen everything that can happen during a session. That’s what fifteen years of full-time newborn work gives you.
My work was recognized by Expertise.com among Baltimore’s Best Newborn Photographers in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2024.
For Mount Washington families researching photographers, that consistency matters: it means the work holds up year after year.
Newborn sessions start at $600 for the MINI package (5 digital images and a gallery of 20). The RUBY package is $900 (10 digital images, 50-70 gallery), and DIAMOND is $1,100 (20 digital images, 50-70 gallery). Each package includes a 2-3 hour studio session with Ana.

When to Book Your Newborn Session in Mount Washington

The best time to schedule a newborn session is during your second trimester, before things get hectic. Booking early secures a window in your due-date range.
The actual session happens within the first five to fourteen days after your baby is born — when newborns still curl easily and sleep deeply.
Most Mount Washington families deliver at Sinai Hospital in northwest Baltimore — part of the LifeBridge Health system, about five minutes from Mount Washington.
Some families also choose GBMC in Towson or Johns Hopkins Hospital in downtown. Wherever you deliver, once you’re settled at home, call or message me and we schedule the session for whatever day works best in that first two-week window.

    Mount Washington Newborn Photography Notes

Mount Washington sits in northwest Baltimore — a historic neighborhood anchored by the 19th century Mount Washington Mill, Smith Avenue’s quiet commercial corridor, and the adjacent 207-acre Cylburn Arboretum. Families here often appreciate the mix of historic character and proximity to both Sinai Hospital and the broader Baltimore community.
Mount Washington is part of the broader Baltimore newborn photography service area, with regular families from across northwest Baltimore — Roland Park, Homeland, Guilford — all within a short drive of the studio. My experience spans the same neighborhoods I’ve been photographing for over fifteen years.

    Mount Washington Family Reviews

“Ana is absolutely amazing. She is a professional photographer AND a professional mother. I was worried that it would end up as a disaster with our baby screaming, but Ana was able to calm the baby down easily (better than us!). You can tell Ana is truly passionate about her job. I highly recommend Ana! We will be coming back for future shoots!”
