The best time to schedule a newborn session is during your second trimester, before things get hectic. Booking early secures a window in your due-date range.
The actual session happens within the first five to fourteen days after your baby is born — when newborns still curl easily and sleep deeply.
Most Cockeysville families deliver at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), about ten to fifteen minutes south of Cockeysville in Towson — named “Best Place to Deliver Your Baby” by Baltimore’s Child Magazine in 2024. Newborn sessions are studio-only at my Timonium location, six minutes south of Cockeysville. The studio is fully set up for newborn photography — controlled temperature, professional lighting, dedicated safety setup, and an extensive prop and wrap collection — so families don’t need to prepare anything at home. The short drive is shorter than the prep an in-home session would typically require.
When should we book if delivering at GBMC?
