professional newborn photography in Baltimore, MD
For more than 15 years, I’ve welcomed hundreds of Baltimore families to our dedicated, custom-designed studio—located just minutes from downtown.
Voted Best Newborn Photographer in Baltimore four times (2016, 2017, 2018, 2024).
What matters most when you’re entrusting me with your newborn isn’t the awards — it’s Ana Koska’s training and approach, and the safety-first instincts that come from doing newborn work week after week for fifteen-plus years. Every session is calm, paced, and built around your baby’s rhythm.
What to Expect from Your Baltimore Newborn Session
Every Baltimore newborn session in our studio follows the same rhythm: unhurried, baby-led, and built to give you both a beautiful experience and an even better gallery. Here’s what to expect when you walk through the door.
01
Studio Setup
The studio is warmed to a comfortable 80°F, lit primarily with soft natural light supplemented by professional studio lighting, and prepped with all backdrops, wraps, and props selected for your session. White noise plays throughout to mimic the womb and keep your baby relaxed.
02
Session Duration
Plan on 2 to 3 hours. Newborns set the pace — we’ll feed, soothe, change, and reset as often as needed. Some sessions move quickly; others take longer. The goal is never to rush past the moments that make the gallery.
03
Posing Approach
All posing follows newborn safety best practices. The famous ‘froggy pose’ and other advanced positions are achieved through composite editing rather than placing a baby in any position that isn’t supported. Safety always comes first.
04
Family Inclusion
Parents, siblings, and even pets are welcome in the session. Most families add 15–20 minutes of family portraits to their newborn time so you walk away with everything in one sitting. Siblings get a short, fun setup at the beginning while they have the most patience.
05
What to Bring
Feeding supplies (whichever method works for you), a change of clothes for both baby and parents, a pacifier if you use one, and any meaningful items you’d like incorporated — a heirloom blanket, hospital wristband, or grandparent’s gift. Everything else is provided.

What Baltimore Families Say
Don’t take my word for it.
Here’s what Baltimore families have said about their experience after their newborn session — pulled directly from real Google reviews, and a small representative slice of the 80+ five-star ratings now on the studio’s Google Business Profile.
The pictures were absolutely stunning, truly editorial-worthy and of exceptional quality. Every image looked beautifully captured and thoughtfully styled. Ana was very organized, detailed, and professional from start to finish. She answered questions promptly, communicated clearly throughout the process, and made everything feel easy.
I also loved that she had additional props, outfits, and accessories available, so there was no pressure to bring everything yourself. Her creativity and attention to detail are unmatched. You can genuinely tell she is passionate about creating beautiful memories for families.
I left the session beyond satisfied and grateful for how beautifully she captured these special moments. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented photographer and an amazing experience. I absolutely love the pictures!!!!
Best Time to Book Your Newborn Photography Session
Newborn photography has a brief, perfect window — typically when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old. Most Baltimore families book during the second trimester; we’ll set a tentative window and finalize the exact session day within 48 hours of birth.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is the best age for a newborn photography session?
The ideal window is between 5 and 14 days after birth. During this period, newborns are typically sleepier and more easily posed, their skin is at its smoothest, and they still hold that distinctive curled-up, brand-new look. Sessions after the third week are still beautiful but require different posing approaches.
How long does a newborn session in Baltimore take?
Most sessions run between 2 and 3 hours. We work at baby’s pace — feeding, soothing, outfit changes, and prop transitions all happen as needed rather than against a clock. Some sessions wrap in 90 minutes; others stretch to 3+ hours. The pace serves the baby, not the schedule.
How much does newborn photography cost in Baltimore?
Baltimore newborn sessions at our studio start at $600 and include the studio session, professional editing, and an online delivery gallery. Most families add a print package or heirloom album. Full pricing details and current package tiers are on the dedicated pricing page.
What should we bring to the newborn photo session?
Feeding supplies, a change of clothes for baby and at least one parent, a pacifier if you use one, and any meaningful items you’d like included in the portraits — heirloom blankets, hospital bracelets, grandparent gifts. The studio provides all wraps, backdrops, and props.
Where is your Baltimore newborn photography studio located?
The studio is in Timonium, Maryland — at 2211 Spring Lake Drive — just off I-83 and roughly 20 minutes from downtown Baltimore. It’s easily accessible from anywhere in the Baltimore metro area and many surrounding Maryland counties.
Can siblings and pets be included in the newborn session?
Absolutely. Many Baltimore families add sibling portraits to the start of the session while older children have the most patience, and well-behaved family pets are welcome for a few shots. Sibling time typically takes 15–20 minutes at the front of the session.
How far in advance should we book?
Most Baltimore newborn sessions are booked during the second trimester of pregnancy. This locks in a tentative window around your due date. Once your baby arrives, we finalize the exact session day within 48 hours of birth. Late-pregnancy and post-birth bookings are sometimes possible — reach out and ask.

Baltimore Neighborhoods I Serve
Award-winning newborn photography for families across Baltimore — from established northern neighborhoods to historic southern waterfront communities.
Northern Baltimore is where many of the families I work with live and raise their children — tree-lined streets, established homes, and a tight-knit feel. Roland Park is the tree-lined community adjacent to Johns Hopkins University, and Homeland families settle nearby in the historic planned neighborhood.
Guilford is home to the Sherwood Gardens area, while Mount Washington is the quiet northwest village near Sinai Hospital. Hampden covers the lively 36th Street neighborhood famous for HonFest and the Miracle on 34th Street holiday lights.
Southern Baltimore is the historic waterfront — older neighborhoods that have evolved into thriving residential communities while keeping their character.
Federal Hill sits just south of the Inner Harbor, while Canton families on the east-side waterfront are near Johns Hopkins Bayview. Fells Point is the cobblestone-street neighborhood established in 1763 — one of Baltimore’s oldest.
And just across the Hanover Street Bridge, Locust Point is the peninsula neighborhood anchored by Fort McHenry and Tide Point.
Whichever neighborhood you call home, the studio approach is the same: calm light, careful posing, more than fifteen years of full-time newborn specialization, and a gallery you’ll keep on your wall for the next fifteen years.
